Today we commemorate the attacks of 22 March 2016 on the Maelbeek metro station and Zaventem airport. A ceremony was held in honour of all victims of terrorist attacks in Belgium and in honour of all Belgian victims of terrorist attacks abroad.
The names of the victims of terrorism were read out, and a minute's silence was held in their honour. Prime Minister Alexander De Croo, the President of the European Parliament, Brussels Airport CEO Arnaud Feist, Stib CEO Brieuc de Meeûs, representatives of the associations V-Europe and Life4Brussels and representatives of the emergency services each laid a wreath at the Belgian monument for the victims of terrorism. Wreaths were also laid at Zaventem airport and at the Maelbeek metro station.
The victims were also invited to a convivial meeting after the ceremony.
