22 March Remembrance: Solemn Tribute to Victims of Terrorism in Brussels

22/03/2024

In a deeply moving ceremony today, survivors and families of victims gathered in Brussels to honor our loved ones lost to terrorism in a heartfelt tribute held at the rue de la Loi monument. The solemn occasion provided a moment for collective remembrance and reflection on the lives tragically affected by acts of violence, both locally and internationally.

As the names of the 53 victims of terrorism in Belgium and Belgian victims abroad were solemnly read aloud, a sense of reverence filled the air. Each name represented a cherished individual, whose absence continues to be deeply felt by our families, friends, and communities.

The ceremony, attended by representatives from various organizations including V-Europe, underscored the importance of standing together in solidarity and compassion. Throughout the event, wreaths were laid in memory of the victims, serving as poignant symbols of remembrance and unity.

In this moment of shared sorrow, V-Europe stood alongside survivors and families, offering quiet support and solidarity. Their presence was a reminder of the resilience of the human spirit and the unwavering commitment to honoring the memory of those lost to terrorism.

As the ceremony drew to a close, we found solace in each other's company, sharing stories of resilience and hope amidst our shared grief. We departed with a renewed sense of unity and determination, inspired to continue honoring the legacy of our loved ones and working towards a future free from the scourge of terrorism.
